I was in Los Angeles a few weekends ago, my first foray to California since moving away nearly two years ago. The first thing I did after dumping my bag off in my room at the Biltmore was go to The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf across the street for a Hazelnut Ice Blended, basically the greatest coffee drink on Earth. Unfortunately, on the West Coast there are no Coffee Bean and Tea Leafs north of San Francisco. There is actually one in Michigan of all places, but it’s behind airport security, so you had to be flying somewhere to get to it, and I didn’t fly anywhere when I lived there. So I had gone 23 months between Ice Blendeds.
Since I have no idea the next time I’ll be within 100 miles of a Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, I bought the above before I left LA. Unfortunately, I still need to get the pure coffee extract to make Ice Blendeds, but at least I can smell the powder. Once I do get the extract, I’m going to have to ration this stuff out very carefully.
