I came home and tried to explain what I saw to my roommate what that little creature looked like and I sounded like a crazy person. So I decided to google it...and came up on your posting. I described it as a "weird red/ lobster/ crawfish/ scorpion" thing that was crawling away from the water. It got freaked out by my dog so it rocked back on its tail and also raised its pincers in the air. so Wow...thank you for letting me know I am not crazy.
