Just another typical day in Plymouth, I suppose. Tomorrow is my first day off in 18 days.

Scream Time

July 21st, 2010 Jason No comments

So driving through town yesterday was a pain in the rear, courtesy of the Scream 4 production rolling to shoot some scenes. The bad news is that I missed Alison Brie. Le Sigh. About a week ago I noticed workmen constructing the most ghetto addition to one of the restaurants in town. In the parking lot next to the restaurant they were building a wood frame, but they were putting it atop the concret of the parking lot. Any layman will tell you that’s all sorts of crazy. Well, turns out it was for the police station in the movie, or at least, the external shot of it.

Also, slow on updating this month. It’s crunch time at work. Going on my 10th straight day at the office. Argh.

Art in the Park

July 11th, 2010 Jason No comments

Another weekend, another weekend festival here in Plymouth.  Last weekend was the 4th of July festivities. This weekend it’s Art in the Park, which must be the biggest festival all year, because I’ve never seen downtown Plymouth so packed. It’s high summer, and there are thousands upon thousands milling about the artisan booths. It reminds me quite a bit of the U District’s annual street fair in Seattle. Anyway, since it is high summer and ungodly bright and hot outside, I dusted off the old DP1, since shooting in bright daylight is just about all it can do. With that said, it delivers amazing performance, especially for its compact size.

Plaque in the town square. Still testing out the iPhone 4 camera. That is pretty darn good, but you should see the full-res version. Most impressive.

The British Are Coming?

June 15th, 2010 Jason No comments

Yes, it’s a crappy photo, but that was the scene near the town square. I swear, I’ve moved to freaking Stars Hollow or something. I’m going to say this, not for the first time in my life and not for the last, but East Coasters are weird. Sure, we West Coasters don’t have any history, and that’s a shame sometimes. Then again, we’re not burdened with having to reenact a Revolutionary War-era fife-and-drum corps and serenade cars in a parking lot.
